Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information in connection with this website and the Venture Labs program.
01Who we are
Venture Labs is a program of ORIA Foundations, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. ORIA Foundations is responsible for the information collected through this website.
02Information we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:
- Contact information, such as your name, email address, phone number, and organization.
- Sponsor and donor information, such as donor type and contribution amount.
- Form submissions, including inquiries, applications, and sponsor messages.
- Payment metadata, such as the date, amount, and a transaction reference (not card numbers).
- Recognition preferences, such as a display name or website you ask us to acknowledge.
- Technical and browser information, such as IP address, device, and browser type.
- Analytics data and cookies, if and where used (see below).
03Payment information
Raw payment card and bank account details are collected and processed directly by our third-party payment processors (such as Stripe). ORIA Foundations and Venture Labs do not store full card or bank account numbers on this website. We may receive limited payment metadata, such as a confirmation and transaction reference, to issue receipts and keep records.
04How we use information
We use information to:
- Process donations and sponsorship contributions.
- Issue receipts and maintain accurate records.
- Respond to inquiries, applications, and messages.
- Manage sponsor recognition where authorized.
- Operate, maintain, and improve the site.
- Comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.
05How we share information
We share information only as needed with:
- Payment processors, to complete and record contributions.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers that operate the site on our behalf.
- Analytics providers, where used.
- Advisors or authorities, where required for legal, tax, or compliance needs.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only to operate the program and meet legal obligations.
06Cookies and analytics
The site may use cookies or similar technologies, and may use analytics tools, to understand how the site is used and to improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect how parts of the site function.
07Donor and sponsor recognition
Your name, organization, or logo is only displayed publicly as a sponsor if you authorize recognition. Recognition is acknowledgment only and does not imply endorsement by ORIA Foundations or Venture Labs. You may withdraw recognition consent at any time by contacting us.
08Student and minors privacy
Venture Labs is youth- and student-facing, and we take the privacy of minors seriously. This section explains how we handle student information submitted through the student interest form.
What student information we collect:
- Name, email, age range, grade level, school name, city/state, areas of interest, a short project description, and optional links.
- Parent or guardian contact information when the student is under 18 or under 13.
Why we collect it:
- Reviewing student interest, contacting applicants, organizing programs, safety and permission checks, program administration, and legal compliance.
What we do not collect:
- Social Security numbers, government IDs, full home address, precise geolocation, medical data, financial data, or protected demographic data — unless explicitly required later with separate consent. We use an age range, never an exact date of birth.
Under 13: students under 13 should not submit the form directly. A parent or guardian must contact ORIA Foundations to discuss participation, and the child’s full details are not collected through the form.
Under 18: parent or guardian contact may be required, and parent/guardian permission may be needed before a student participates in activities.
Public recognition: student names, photos, schools, projects, testimonials, or media will not be publicly posted from this form alone. Separate written permission is always required first.
No sale or advertising: ORIA Foundations does not sell student personal information and does not use student information for behavioral advertising or unrelated profiling.
Service providers: student information may be handled by hosting, form, email, database, analytics, and security providers only as needed to operate the site and the program.
Retention: we keep student interest and application records only as long as reasonably necessary for program administration, legal compliance, dispute prevention, and nonprofit recordkeeping — by default about 24 months, unless the student joins a program or a longer period is required by law.
Parent/guardian requests: parents and guardians may request access to, correction of, or deletion of a minor’s personal information by contacting ORIA Foundations at contactus@oriafoundations.org. We take reasonable steps to verify the request before acting on it.
Security: we use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect student information, though no system is perfectly secure.
09Data retention
We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including to maintain donation records, issue receipts, and comply with legal, tax, and accounting requirements, after which we dispose of it responsibly.
10Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11Your choices and requests
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may opt out of non-essential communications. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
12California privacy notice
This notice is provided for California residents, even where the California Consumer Privacy Act may not fully apply to ORIA Foundations.
- Categories collected: identifiers (name, email, phone), commercial information (contributions and preferences), internet activity (technical and analytics data), and information you choose to provide in messages.
- Purposes: to process contributions, respond to inquiries, manage recognition, operate and improve the site, and meet legal obligations.
- Categories of third parties: payment processors, hosting providers, analytics providers, and advisors or authorities where legally required.
- No sale or sharing: we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
California residents may exercise applicable rights by contacting us using the details below.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes become effective when posted to this page, with an updated effective date above.
